Island Šćedro
In historical records the island has been called „Torta“ (cake). Nowadays it is virtually uninhibited. Even in the summer months there is no more than 30 residents that live on the island. There used to be two villages on the island, Mostir and Nastan. Cultural heritage on the island is the dominican monastery. You can find two deep, safe bays on the island which have been historically used by greeks and venecians and keep sailors nowadays safe from strong winds. The small island of Scedro can be found between the islands of Hvar and Korcula. Scedro is you ideal destination if your looking for tranquillity, away from the hustle and bustle of towns and tourists. Because of its specific climate and rich vegetation it has a very fertile soil for many local plants and herbs such as sage, rosemary and oregano. There is no shops, electricity or running water on the island. We get all our electricity through solar energie and the use of a generator. Our water supply comes from a rainwater tank which is anaylised every year to sustain a good water quality. You can spend a very active holiday on the island of Scedro by hiking and walking on the trails or you can simply relax on the tranquil beaches. In addition to the self contained holiday apartments we have a small family run restaurant where we lovingly prepare traditional meals. You can leave your boat in the safe bay or arrive by helicopter on the nearby platform. Apartments on the island of Šćedro
